Futo utca housing, Budapest _university project_2003

Concept

Budapest.

The site is located in the hearth of a district which desperatly needed rehabilitation / VIII. district-www.rev8.hu/ . The renewal was not only about the built environment, communities needed to find their way for a new lifestyle that includes more intensive usage of public spaces too! This target was a basic conceptual element, which ment that the interior coutyard of the building had to be open for public use, it`s functioning as an openair cinema / or even party place-since it`s surrounded with firewalls, the open hours of the courtyard can be defined by the habitants /. The measures of the flat`s were designed for couples or young families... The garden on the rooftop can be used only for the habitants, so they get also a more private open space, which misses the feeling "they are watching us from the flats"...

Mono residence _university project_2002

Concept:

This was the first residential project at the university. We had to design a 120 m2 house for a family with 2 children. The conceptual organization of the building begun from Mondrian`s picture. I wanted to put his 2D painting in 3D. Mondrian was a famous painter of the de stijl movement which defined the basic style of my design too. I kept the building functional. Living space and the parents master bedroom on the groundfloor, children`s rooms on the first floor.

Used materials: wood and concrete.
